Certified Systems Engineer + Security 2003 (along with other MS certifications),
an A+ Certified professional,
an HP Certified Professional and a Compaq Accredited Platform
Specialist. I have over 20 years of computer experience
including over 14 years of Windows Network Administration. I enjoy
all aspects of computer work, and am constantly reading and learning
more. I am currently
employed with Unisys, a leading international technology provider.
I implement and maintain Microsoft solutions for multiple
high-end servers for a local Unisys client.
Previously I worked for
Miller Brothers, Inc. in
Marshall

VA.
I was needed there to
resolve numerous technology related problems, which were left by their
previous IT consultants. Over
the course of the year I developed a maintainable and efficient IT
enterprise for them. I
resigned in August of 2004 to be able to devote myself full time to my
independent consulting work.
Before becoming the IT
Manager for Miller Brothers, I was employed by Halifax Corporation, a
national Information Technology contracting firm.
I served
Halifax
's largest client in the state, VDOT (Virginia Department of
Transportation). I was responsible for maintaining an enterprise
of over 500 computers, including servers, desktops and laptops spanning
9 counties which was the Culpeper VDOT District.
Prior
to working for
Halifax
, I taught at the
Computer
Learning
Center
in
Manassas
,
Virginia
from September 2000 until January 2001. There
I also set up and administered NT4 and Windows 2000 networks. I taught
TCP/IP, NT4 Server and Workstation, troubleshooting, NT4 Technical
Support, Windows 2000 Professional & Server, Active Directory,
network protocols, network hardware, routing, various network
types/media, routers, hubs, switches, bridges and more. I enjoy
teaching, but unfortunately, CLC shut down in January 2001.
I
